Click here to enjoy the goodness!
It's sort of hard to describe it...its like Tasha remembered something so they rush to the market do some shopping..cook and get nicely dressed and then no one shows up but them. I am sure there is more to it than that...but well...Hebrew impaired strikes again LOL Love the music selection including Patience by GnR. - Their best song IMHO. The funny part well the whole clip was good..but I think it was when Tasha was putting on eyeliner and poked her eye LOL.... What a cool clip!

Palestinians Party on September 11
Tue, Sep 11, 2007 at 8:38:05 am PST
Following yesterday’s terrorist attack, Palestinians took to the streets, dancing and singing and handing out candy.

I know where I was.
I woke up just in time to see the first tower fall. See at the time I worked the swing shift at Earthlink so it was normal for me to stay up til about 5 am. So, I was probably asleep around 4 am, but I woke up to Greta telling me I had to look at the TV and the sound in her voice was full of tears and shock. I got up just in time to see the tower fall on CNN and I was stunned. I think it took me about 5 min to grasp what was going on. CNN kept cutting to NYC, the Pentagon and then to Pennsylvania. The only thing I remember in my mind was that we were at war. But we did not really know with who. Then I remember seeing the Palestinians dancing in the streets and I remember my blood boiling. I remember calling my mom and my sister...and we were all trying to reach our relative in NYC....his name was Teva. It took us almost two days to reach him and confirm that he was Ok. I remember not wanting to step away from the TV, it seems almost safer to just watch the TV then to go outside and deal with life. When I finally had to go to work (yeah I worked on 9/11 in the evening) I found out my boss's daughter worked in the 73 floor of WTC 2. And my boss was frantically trying to see if his daughter was Ok - she was - we found out. We also had a co-worker who had enlisted in the Navy about 2 months before and was getting ready to go to Basic Training. Prior to 9/11 we joked with him saying...he will have a great time - no wars...he will do his time and get out and use the experience and benefits to get a great job...well 9/11 changed all of that and we were all suddenly worried for him and what might happen. 2 weeks later he left EarthLink and started his service. I think he is still in the Navy now, but I have lost track of him.
That was my day. In front of the TV - listening to every rumor of war, threat of additional attack, trying to contact loved ones and friends to make sure they were all Ok.
Where were you on 9/11? What did you do on that day? How did it change you?

6 years ago today we were awaken from our slumber and had to deal with the world in a way that we never thought possible before. We had to deal with threats in a way that would be different from the past. No longer could we keep our heads in the sand and just sort of shrug off the threats as a horse does to nagging flies. No! We could not let the souls of 2,998 people just disappear as though they never existed. Their lives demanded that we act to prevent more horrible acts against the innocent in our country and abroad. Today we remember the lives of the fallen those who died in the attacks and those who have died protecting the freedoms that we enjoy. May all of them, their families and loved ones find peace.

Here is an update from Omri -
What is going to happen next is anyone's guess. Olmert might hesitate to respond militarily, but Barak will. G-d help those injured and bring peace and justice to the land!

I wish I could say I was shocked about the news of Greta's passing but I wasn't entirely shocked...it was more numb realization that she is truly gone.
I have been in contact with her mother and she is sending me a few items a picture and some other keepsakes and actually some things of mine I gave her at the time she relocated. In the end, I will always be reminded of her whenever I see Cornelius - she got him (well for us really - LOL) for me as a Birthday gift.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you'll for your kind words they mean alot to me.
Here is a pic of her that I had scanned at work today:

Here is the basic lesson:
...In the seventh month, on the first of the month, there shall be a sabbath for you, a remembrance with shofar blasts, a holy convocation. -Leviticus 16:24
Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first and second days of Tishri. In Hebrew, Rosh Hashanah means, literally, "head of the year" or "first of the year." Rosh Hashanah is commonly known as the Jewish New Year. This name is somewhat deceptive, because there is little similarity between Rosh Hashanah, one of the holiest days of the year, and the American midnight drinking bash and daytime football game.
There is, however, one important similarity between the Jewish New Year and the American one: Many Americans use the New Year as a time to plan a better life, making "resolutions." Likewise, the Jewish New Year is a time to begin introspection, looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year. More on this concept at Days of Awe.
The name "Rosh Hashanah" is not used in the Bible to discuss this holiday. The Bible refers to the holiday as Yom Ha-Zikkaron (the day of remembrance) or Yom Teruah (the day of the sounding of the shofar). The holiday is instituted in Leviticus 23:24-25.
The shofar is a ram's horn which is blown somewhat like a trumpet. One of the most important observances of this holiday is hearing the sounding of the shofar in the synagogue. A total of 100 notes are sounded each day. There are four different types of shofar notes: tekiah, a 3 second sustained note; shevarim, three 1-second notes rising in tone, teruah, a series of short, staccato notes extending over a period of about 3 seconds; and tekiah gedolah (literally, "big tekiah"), the final blast in a set, which lasts (I think) 10 seconds minimum. Click the shofar above to hear an approximation of the sound of Tekiah Shevarim-Teruah Tekiah. The Bible gives no specific reason for this practice. One that has been suggested is that the shofar's sound is a call to repentance. The shofar is not blown if the holiday falls on Shabbat.
No work is permitted on Rosh Hashanah. Much of the day is spent in synagogue, where the regular daily liturgy is somewhat expanded. In fact, there is a special prayerbook called the machzor used for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur because of the extensive liturgical changes for these holidays.
Another popular observance during this holiday is eating apples dipped in
honey, a symbol of our wish for a sweet new year. This was the second Jewish
religious practice I was ever exposed to (the first one: lighting
Chanukkah candles), and I highly recommend
it. It's yummy. We also dip bread in honey (instead of the usual practice
of sprinkling salt on it) at this time of year for the same reason.

Another narrowly averted terror attack in Israel, this one aimed at Tel Aviv.
Three pipe bombs were found Sunday in the possession of a Palestinian youth who arrived at the Beit Iba checkpoint, northwest of Nablus. IDF sources reported that the bombs were intended to be used in a terror attack in Tel Aviv.
Sappers defused the bombs and the youth was transferred to security forces for questioning. The defense establishment’s level of alert is at it highest ahead of the high holidays.
IDF sources said all terror organizations active in the West Bank - Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) - were plotting to carry out terror attacks in Israel and were sometimes cooperating with each other.
Meanwhile, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) head Yuval Diskin said that West Bank terror groups had recently increased their efforts to carry out terror attacks, adding that there had also been an increase in rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.
Lovely people. Let’s give them a state!

It was a surprise to see an e-mail come in from you.
I am assuming you are still in Phoenix. I thought
you might like to know what happened here.
Greta came back from Phoenix on April 14th last year.
We found a nice apartment for her up across the
Missouri state line in the tiny town of Anderson.
We are only 3 miles from the border anyway.
She needed an address in MO because her psychologist,
Dr. Orlando, was in Joplin MO. She was in and out of
the hospital and on MANY meds of course. After a trip
to the pain doctor for the pain patch we came here to
our house. She was planning to spend the weekend
with us. Her head hurt and she wanted to take a nap
in the afternoon. So she laid down and went to sleep
immediately but she never woke up and had died in her
sleep. This was October 26th, 2006.
The rescue squad said she died of a heart attack.
This is quite common I understand with people of any
age that have been taking a lot of medications for
many years. She was so toxic that the Fentanyl patch
tipped it all over the edge. They said no autopsy was
necessary despite her age. Her cousin Teresa is a
paramedic and said she sees this frequently in young
people.

I hope Greta finds peace that she did not have in this life.
I just got off the phone with my sister - my sister did a search on the Social Security database, she confirmed it.

IDF Counter-Kidnaps Gilad Shalit's Kidnappers
The sources said that the undercover soldiers entered the Gaza Strip, and carried out their operation near the Rafah Crossing. According to the sources, the undercover soldiers were disguised as grocers riding a donkey-pulled wagon. Sources said they disguised force even chatted with locals near the crossing.According to the report, the undercover soldiers approached a plot of land belonging to Muhawesh al-Kadi, a senior Hamas official who acts as spokesman of the organization’s special security forces in Rafah.
Al-Kadi was working his land when the disguised force approached and kidnapped him. The Palestinian sources reported that the operation went quickly and smoothly. The undercover force left Rafah with al-Kadi, and brought him to Israel.
