December 4th-7th my sister and I get to go to California to visit our grandmother.
Grandma will finally be able to see my souvineers and pictures from Israel!!!
And, it has been a great week - new classes starting up....and set up for the future.
Excellent communication with Lital - she got Shawn's package for Adi and her own B-day gift!
2 more weeks of vacation for the girls before they start back in college.
As you guessed
Today is a video day....because it is the last day of 92.7 and I am streaming it both at work and home (when I am not out running errands) - then I listen to it on the radio.
Happy Halloween!!!!
Ah yes, that time of year, time for scary movies, free candy and time to get bombarded with kids seeking candy or tossing eggs at your place! LOL Yep, it is the best holiday ever!!!! Halloween is here!!!
About last week I posted a spoof on those 1950 documentaries/VD films on how to survive a Zombie attack. That was the funny. If you have a chance you should watch it!
US to become the new Israel???
Very interesting. Ace has the scoop that Iran has threatened to have suicide bombers bomb us on American soil? Now, in my crazy sense of humor the first thing was to think of places where there could be soft targets like UC Berkeley or that predominate Muslim community in Michigan (Dearborn I think). IN REALITY, this would obviously mean a serious escalation and would only provoke the US to launching either unilateral strikes against them or allow us to slip Israel's leash.
The serious downside is that unlike what Israel has been able to do to reduce attacks (ie the Wall) this is not an option for us since those enemies are already inside the walls. And, that is not entirely the worst of it. Can you imagine what Obama's response would be if he was President and we started having suicide bombers start picking landmarks, malls, restaurants and key locals like airports or universities? It would make the current economic headaches we are having look like fucking child's play.
Happy Happy Joy Joy
Things are going rather well....I just started teaching 2 classes this week, (which brings me up to 6) and now got an invite for two more beginning in early November and 2 in Dec 1st.
YAY!!!!
That will make a nice dent into my credit cards (and my boss who paid for my fed exing - which I am paying back). And, the year isn't even over yet!!!
I guess if this keeps up by January I can really start planning the next trip!!!!
The Naked Archeologist
Hehe I really like this show, much more now than I did before....like today they were in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and well we were there! It is so different knowing that we have been there touching and looking at the same things! From the Kotel to churchs to the Cardo! It is such a different feeling an exciting feeling.
Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can't release it is because
statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He
congratulates Khalidi for his work saying "Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine" plus there's been "genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis."
If that is true, yeah that could be a serious serious problems for Obama. His narrow lead could evaporate to a McCain landslide (40 states anyone????) Seriously, the LA Times needs to fucking release this tape and allow the PEOPLE to judge for themselves.
You can look at photos online too for Barbarella hair with buy hair extensions. As you see
them you can get a good idea of the looks you would like to try with real
hair extensions clip in. For work you may go with a straight look that is
full of volume real
hair extensions clip in. For a night out though adding some curl can be what
you need to feel sexy and to change up the look by real hair extensions.

Oh what to talk about
You know, sometimes it's hard to get one's thoughts together. I have so many thoughts in my head....working at Skyce, then working at UoP. Wanting to learn Hebrew, working out, then researching the aliyah and then trying to have some fun, but realizing there is absolutely NOTHING out I would want to see at the movies, and now refinancing my home....paying the credit cards off...life just seems so damn heavy at times.
Right now, what I think is that I would either like to go back to Israel around May. Chris knows, Shawn knows, I mentioned it to my sister and today I told Lital. This time my sister said she wants to go. If she does go, this experience will change her. If anything she will want to either go back..OR continue travelling to other places in the world. For me, I would have a fulfilled life if I stayed in Israel. I would be in peace in my mind and heart.
I know this is what you want. However, a trip "changing" me is unlikely. I already WANT to travel to places. I have traveled far more than you, big brother. I know you had a wonderful time on your vacation. But someone needs to say something about you giving up your entire life and work to move to a foreign country where you basically know NO ONE. Your friends and your family are here.. and this is your blog, but I get my own opinion too. WAKE up before its too late.
Life is life, we all have bills to pay, things we dont want to do. WE are a family HERE. Moving to a country where there is war is just ridiculous.
Feel free to lynch me at any time, viewers.

Sometimes, its ok to disagree with someones dream. My brother has gone from being dirt poor, to buying his own house 2 years ago. Having a career, a family with us as well as finally dating.
Please consider before giving people advice, that perhaps their vision, though a lovely one, isn't always the right way.
You are encouraging him to give up a HOUSE he cant get back and move to a country where he won't always be safe.
I do not feel my brother is thinking rationally. I know you all want to support him, but COME ON. He can go visit Israel for the rest of his life and experience peace and joy during those times.
If you all knew my brother the way I do.. You would all know, how absolutely insane this all is. This is NOT my Brothers character and I feel deeply in my heart, he will regret this.

Hey sis Don't worry Laurie nothing is getting rushed. I am just voicing my thoughts and feelings.
And its cool you disagree with me. I like it that you do.
No one is going to lynch you.
Always voice what you feel!
I am sure we will talk more about this when I see you and when we go see Grandma in December!

Oh Grandma.
Well Grandma has sort of accepted the possibility.
As I said before nothing is written in stone. Nor have I turned in paperwork. Hell the paperwork for Nefesh B'Nefesh is rather daunting.
You are making it sound like I have already decided and have a date to move. I thought I jump three steps ahead hehehehe...(at least that is what Holly criticized about me) hehe...you have jumped far head of me in thinking this is a done deal. It is not, not yet.
I know if I do this, I do it alone and wont get any assistance from you nor will I ask. So, I have to be BEYOND 100% certain that this is what I want. I am not there, yet.

Also Remember, Grandma gave Grandfather the option to move to Israel back in 1960/1 when him and Sam visited Israel. He said no. Not her.
They could have moved to Israel way back then.
It was an option she placed on the table.

And Yes, your posts make it seem definate. Like your life now sucks cause you aren't in Israel. Its kinda a slap in the face of your life.

Laurie, if I do decide to move to Israel it will happen. I already know I cannot count on your support. I accept that. If I decide that this is what I want to do, I will manage it on my own. Right now no decision has been made. I talk about my thoughts because it is precisely what I think.

just thought i'd chime in. I have talked with Robert a few times about this. He seems to want to go , I detect some reservations but he has made several steps tward this goal, so I'd say He wants to move there. I asked him a few times if this is what he wants, suggested a second visit to get a better understanding and then make a decision after some serious thought. then there is something called dual citizenship? which means he can return to the US if he likes. It is a big decision. all the details are not known. I think it might be a life changing experience whether he decides to stay permantly or return.

For the record, IF I moved there I would NOT lose my American citizenship. I would automatically have dual citizenship once I stayed in Israel for 3 years. So, I wont lose American citizenship if I obtained Israeli citizenship. Hell I will still need to file taxes despite not being in the country! (That is why I already asked Jonathan about filing taxes for me while I am out of the country).
The biggest concerns in my mind are: learning Hebrew and the Israeli customs, getting a job and a place to stay. The Government of Israel offers support and assistance for Jews returning to Israel in all of those areas.

I am NOT concerned with your status as a citizen anywhere.
Shawn you did not address the fact he's moving to a country that is frequently in a state of war. I don't think you are really taking that into consideration.
No offense to you, but of course he wants to go! He had a vacation of a lifetime that he planned his entire life for. I will tell you what I told my brother. Disneyland is MY 2nd home. I dont get to move to Disneyland. I go there to visit.

Laurie there is violence pretty much everywhere. Remember we lived through the LA Riots. If our time comes it can come just as quickly here in the states we could die for a variety of reasons - car accidents, robbery, MY OFFICE was shot at...and I still have the bullet hole in my office!!!! They never caught the person who shot at my office.
To use the I could die reason is to allow yourself to be feared into inaction. You could die just as easily driving to Disneyland OR in a ride in Disneyland (which has happened more than a few times). But it doesn't stop you from going and enjoying and LOVING Disneyland and everything associated with it.
We only live once, and if I am strong enough to actually go through this...then the possibilities could be just as likely that I live a long, fulfilled life having a spiritual connection to the land of our ancestors and a connection to history a connection stronger than just reading books.

Sad news
My favorite radio station is going away. 92.7 FM KNRJ - the dance radio station is leaving the airways on Friday @ 5pm. THIS SUCKS. I got lots of good clips from this station and now it is changing formats.
DAMN, that sucks!
