Really part of the neighborhood looks absolutely different, so much so, I did a double take until I recognized some of the businesses.
More to come later

Tomorrow I plan to go see my grandmother!

I ended up touching base with Jonathan and I will probably have dinner with him...then another visit with grandma...and then time to come back to the hotel. Do my school work and then crash. Basically a very full day.

Sunday, I have some school work to do...it shouldn't take too long...then I will check out of the hotel...and go back to visit grandma. From there I will head back to Arizona.
The good thing about this (since I am travel impaired) is that this sort of gives me a mini experience before the main event. Already making mental notes (like do not forget the optical mouse! LOL

Also, I think its pretty much nailed that we will be meeting Lital on Sept 9th.

The next day we should be on tour...and then our third day we can just sort of unwind and so some shopping and site seeing in and around Tel Aviv.

One more day until we are in the Holy Land!!!!
My laptop is alive - though I am still tweaking it now. It is noticeably faster now. And I bought a better mouse for it, instead of that crappy touchpad. It will make doing my teaching stuff on it alot easier. Tomorrow I will download open office for it so that I can use basic word processing programs on it. That is really the main program I need for the teaching gig.
The main feelings I have been experiencing is almost melancholy in the sense that I hope that what I have built up in my head....is not over exaggerated...or that I regret once the trip is over, what I am about to do. Almost like a premature buyers remorse. It really is weird. I am sure it is all in my head, and that I like I always do, think and over analyze things way to much. I don't know how to stop that from happening. It's like on autopilot.
I am concerned about my safety, yes. I am concerned about being gone from home and my cats and what will happen while I am gone. I am concerned about what happens if something happens and my sister or whoever forgets my cats...these are all stupid thoughts...I know....I am concerned about the flight...cabin pressure LOL turbulence...and fuck the last time I was on a plane...well that really sucked so I think about that too. Granted I was like 11 years old and it was a Piper Cherokee type of small plane.. but still..it was my only flying experience prior to this. Yes, I know the happy pills (aka Mr. Ativan and Mr. Xanax) will be there...and in full effect LOL.
Well anyway, Friday I am going to see about leaving work a bit early to drive out to California to visit my grandmother. I have not seen her in 4 years and I want to see her before I go to the Holy Land. While I am there I will see about picking up something from Cali for the girls..(Yes the Scripts I gave them do scream California - since they were autographed from the cast).something that just screams California! LOL It will be my first time home (I will always consider myself a Californian) since I moved to AZ.
In the awkward part..is that I was told that I should tell the girls that I am a bigger guy so as to not shock them. Eh. I don't really know what to say about it...but eh. No, thats not true. My response was that friends shouldn't care. It was awkward, to say the least. I don't know how to really respond to things like that - not to mention the fact that I don't like to talk about me in the first place, at least flaws of mine. Anyway, I don't care, I am going to have the time of my life no matter what. And, by the end I am sure I will have a lifetime of excellent memories not to mention recordings.

So, I flat out cancel the reservation. They better not even try to fucking charge my card! There should be no cancellation fee either!
I end up doing a search on travelocity and went with Thrifty Car Rentals since they are at David Ben Gurion Airport as well. So, I think that is set up and what's great is that I am able to use my Discover card since the likelihood of being able to use that card in Israel is like next to zero! Might as well charge up on that before I leave and that will give me more leverage once I am in country with my other cards hehe!
So now, I just have to work on the tours I believe. Chris and I basically agreed to sign up for the first two tours now and then we can decide if we want to do the third tour on the 16th or just go on our own.

While I was working on the PC, I was checking the DNC (Democratic National Convention) oh my..what a farce. The only time they could utter the words patriotism and not spit right after saying it.
Tonight they had Senator Ted "Mary Jo Kopechne - could not be reached for comment" Kennedy. He looked surprisingly well given the cancer and surgeries he has had to endure. A pleasant surprise overall..and then Michelle "Not proud of America" Obama. G-d she just exudes elitism far worse than anyone I know. Then she tries to dumb it down saying this is more eventful than her playing basketball with her brother, GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK! If this is the best the Dhimmicrats have, McCain might actually win by a landslide. And every time they cut to Mr. Plagiarism - Senator Biden, with his wooden expression I just laughed out loud.

I set up my reservation for Sept 9-11
Shawn you are totally going to want to call them and make a reservation over the phone.
Their number is: 01197235229141.
At least they will be able to take your reservation over the phone. I did not even need to give my credit card number, and I offered it.

Another thing off my list!

Friday, I was supposed to go shopping with my boss, but it fell through. So I went shopping by myself....got some clothes...order some as well. I think the main clothing item I need now is an overcoat or a business jacket type of thing..beyond that, pretty much set. I might want another pair of shoes too..but I am debating that now.
Rental car issues - yes fucking Budget is all sold out..so its now a hunt to get that nailed down. I think that will be resolved by Wednesday.
Shawn has his tickets and today we found out that we will be taking the same flight from London to Tel Aviv LOL. That's pretty cool. Chris still is the lucky one with the direct flight to Tel Aviv!
I think the tours are just about nailed down. I just need Chris's input and then I can start making my reservations. I found a 60th anniversary tour that just sounds WAY too cool...to pass up so instead of the half day tour of Jerusalem, we will do the 60th anniversary tour instead. Since we will have the rental car we can use it as needed to make our own way across Jerusalem.

Oh what else.....This weekend I might not be home...I might be in California...I want to see my grandmother before I leave...It's been about 4 years since I have seen her..and if I am going to fly half way around the world, I should at least take 2 days and see her. That is the plan at this point. I can't stay longer since the cats will be left to their own devices LOL
This week I will get the Power of Attorney done and the Quit Claim deed completed and put in my house safe. I still need some additional supplies and I will try to get them the rest of the week, my boss tells me to remember to bring peanut butter and granola bars and other such things...so thats on my agenda...and my boss was telling me to start making copies of my passport.. And, I have to go to the Dr again to get my friend Mr. Xanax...for the flight.
I have to get more batteries for the digital camera LOL..and soon I can start packing things that I simply do not use regularly by the end of the week, I think. I can't believe it's less than two weeks...I want the time to fly but at the same time...I wish I had more time...weird feelings.

Some issues being discussed are how can Israel change the PR perception (and yes the famous Maxim issue has been raised) LOL and areas for improvement in terms of Israel's government. I think that if Bibi becomes Prime Minister again, this conference can really have an impact.

My trainer is not back yet..and right now i am glad...there has been NO TIME to rest...and now it looks like I will work my first Saturday since well...Pacificare! LOL...not that I mind as long as I still get my school work done and have some time to rest.
My sister got a dog...hehe...I forget what kind he is..but his name is Buster!! OH I remember who had that name...thats Curio's brothers name!!! Buster Boo! LOL Now it hits me...LOL..
I think my sister and her family is going to be taking care of the bums while I am away! hehe...the cats are not going to like all these people in the house ROFL...but they will have to suffer LOL not to mention not being able to watch me sleep or wake me up at 4 am!!! Curio I am looking at you - you butthead. LOL
I am trying to see if I am forgetting any planning things for the trip...I have emailed tour companies and waiting on responses....the car rental issue is now something that has to be addressed again. I have to reconfirm my reservations with the Hotel Adiv and now make sure they have Shawn's as well. OH I have to make sure I have Xanax for the flight..either that or champagne!

It seems the big question was about the Supreme Court Judges, and Obama handed a nice gift to the McCain camp when he started hammering about the lack of qualifications of Judge Clarence Thomas. (Remember he has always been the left's whipping boy since Anita Hill).
Please G-d let there be more debates...just give me enough notice to get some wine and cheese....so I can enjoy the show!
