Bad news / Good news
Don't you just love how things come like that?
On Saturday - I had to get blood work - still feel somewhat broken from the initial major panic attack. I get jumpy and worry. Still havent settled down.
So, I had to get blood work then I have a sleep study in a couple of weeks for my Sleep apnea. Then I get a trip to the cardiologist. They want to check out my ticker. Good - I am a bit worried but nothing major.
Then on Saturday I did my taxes. I PRAYED that I would owe less than 2k. I hoped it would be around 1500 but I figured it would be more.
Here are the results:
To do taxes - 300 Fed tax - 1124 AZ state - 200 REFUND
So - to say the least I am very pleased!!
Now the real good news - Today I just got offered to teach 4 more classes!!! WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Sleep apnea..yeah, i gots that. I had to go to a Sleep study three times for it. Having to use a BiPAP machine now to help me sleep through the night..
i kinda liked going to the sleep study though. the girls that worked there were pretty cute.
Heh
LOL Its been a while since my last sleep study. FUN TIMES!

"BiPAP stands for Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure. It is a breathing apparatus that helps people get more air into their lungs."
for me..i was told that i would often stop breathing during my sleep..which the bipap helps with. so i have to use it every night and when taking naps during the day. Its uncomfortable at first with all that air blowing at you like crazy..plus you tend to wake up during the night with dry mouth and throat..not to mention having to wear a full mask all through the night But you get used to it after a short while
Heh its realy not that bad though..
Talk with Adi!
YEAH!! I had a nice talk with Adi - the longest I think we have had since the vacation!
She also sent me her letter of recommendation!!!!
It was great to speak to her again! I almost think she was kinda feeling me out if I was serious in my desire to make the aliyah. Since it is a huge risk.
Umm....Life?
It's been a slow time on the blog recently. I seem to go through spurts of activity and then a lull in activity. It certainly not because there isnt much to write about. I think the issue of lack of time is the core reason.
Currently teaching 6 classes - just finished another 2 - which made it 8 classes for almost two weeks along with the day job makes it hard to get things done.
On top of this it is almost April 15th - the day of dread.....the day the government takes another pound of flesh from me. UGH. Oh well...once I get that over with I can rest with a bit of ease and relief! Then I can refocus on the aliyah...which has taken a back step (though related) to this tax process - I say related since part of the financial affidavit is the requirement of my taxes. So Yippee!
I just need Adi's letter of recommendation and Michelle's and I will have that part nailed down too!
I paid my tax in NR too. (along with some other Cornelians). Ugh I just hate tax season all together!
A Hebrew Lesson
I was sick at home today. So in between naps and such..I found this show on Sundance Channel - A Hebrew lesson...its the story of 5 people making the aliyah to Israel! Basically what they go through - and its a series!!! I dont know when the next one is on - but this one covered 6 months and they were in Tel Aviv..at the Ulpan Gordon!
It is very cool...and a small taste of what I will be going through! If you have a chance....see this series!

Actually there was one other one...I will post it tonight...I have been swamped at work - both jobs. She sent the pics with her copy of my letter of recommendation

I now have Yair's, Shawn's and now Lital's. Michelle is doing one...I hope Chris might be...and Adi is. That will get them all completed!!!
WHOOOO!!!
Here is what Lital's reference said:
I have known Robert for over 2 years. We became acquainted from the
internet, where he contacted
me about a clip i made on youtube which was successful at the time.(now
I'm studying cinema in Sapir collage). In the beginning, he was a fan
of my
videos and we talked on e-mail from time to time, and than we became
friends. Our friendship expanded beyond the internet; and we would talk
on the phone about our lives, my videos, and catch up with each other.
Robert has a blog, where he updates all kind of things, for example: music, facts and things that matter to him (like Israel).
On
September 2008 Robert came to a visit in Israel and we met a few times during his vacation. I
think Robert is a wonderful person, he has a good heart, caring, funny,
intelligent and very much interested in history especially with
Israel's history. i would say he is a real Zionist and would love to
see him getting along well here in Israel.
Part of the aliyah process is that I have to get people both in Israel and in the US to give letters of recommendation - that they know me for more than two years and to write about me and to vouch for my character - so to speak.
This what I posted is Lital's letter of reference that she wrote for me - so that I can give it to Nefesh B'Nefesh.

CONGRATS JUSTIN!!!
He is going in the ARMY!!! YAY CONGRATS!!!
Today my sister found out her son got accepted!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! GOOD LUCK JUSTIN!!! I am so proud! And, thank you for your service to our wonderful country!!!

Turns out he isnt in the Army yet.. That program he was supposed to join, fell through. So, now we wait til Friday when he takes the GED for the last time (for a year). If he passes it.. He's in.. If he fails it.. Im screwed. Fun Times.

Recruiter called me yesterday, saying that they changed the program rules. He would have to be 18 to get in it now. So now this is all in Justin's hands. Friday he takes the written portion. If he fails, he cannot retest for a year. Army will no longer be an option.
Nothing ever works out !! grrrr.

so YOU write what you want to say in the letter then they sign it, thats how it works around here... ex. " he is an all around great guy". "I trust him implictly" "he once wreslted a crocidile with one arm"....

"he once wreslted a crocidile with one arm"
Hehe
kool! Lital is back!!! thats AWE....... wait a minute.. i didnt even know she was gone..
The Kotel also needs to be cleaned for Pesach. The difference is
that the Kotel is being cleaned not from soup nuts and cheerios stuck
in the crevices, but from the abundance of notes stuffed into its
cracks.
Gotta make room for the new notes coming in.
Today began the biannual cleaning of the Kotel from its notes. Rabbi Rabinovich, overseeing the cleaning, said that it
is performed with the utmost of care and respect for the holiness of
the place. They remove the notes using wooden sticks, and not metal
sticks - just like metal could not be used on the mizbeiach (altar) so
they are not used on the stones of the kotel - and the laborers immerse
in the mikva before sticking their fingers in the crevices.
It
is all good by me, except for how compares the stones of the kotel to
the מזבח. A little respect please. Whether you say the kotel was simply
a retaining wall for the structure of the Temple, or it was actually
part of the walls themselves, it is still not the מזבח.
Back home!
Got to spend part of the day and evening with my sister for her B-day!
It was a fun time.
Hehe I think I have spent more time with her this weekend than I have in the past couple of months! How funny!!
Happy B-day sis! How does it feel being my age? LOL!
