Day 24 - You can call me Al outtake?

Thanks to our loyal reader Dan, he has found an outtake of Tasha and Dishka's You Can Call Me Al clip posted by another Heep user.  As well as some other pics of Tasha (One from the set).

Now, Dan had a question, if Dishka was actually singing the song.  I had my speakers and woofer turned up full on the PC, and I did not think so.  Though I did hear laughing and voices in the background, but given that the recording was probably done on a cell phone - well the quality isn't that great!  Any comments?  Was Dishka singing?  Judge for yourself - here is the link!

And here are some pics of Tasha.  Enjoy!

D-Day

Today is the anniversary of D-Day.  Many websites will have memorials for those who fought and gave the highest sacrifice.  All I can say is that everyone who has ever served is a true hero.

Tonight, in remembrance of their sacrifice I will be watching Band of Brothers.  That series is one of the best series to deal with World War II soldiers.  I highly recommend it for its realism and its accuracy.  It is the story of the Easy Company as they trained to become paratroopers.  They fought in D-Day, Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge, and Germany -taking Eagle's Nest.

Website remembrances:
Ace - June 6,1944
LGF - Remembering Omaha Beach
Hot Air - 63 years ago today

40 years ago today

40 years ago today, David became the Goliath.

40 years ago today, Israel began the 6 day war against Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iraq and throughly crushed them so such an extreme condition that Israel gained the whole of Sinai, Jerusalem, The West Bank, The Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights.

What has changed in the 40 years?  There is a tenuous treaty with Egypt.  There has been somewhat normalized relations with Jordan.  Syria, this very day, is bragging that they they are preparing for war.   Lest anyone doubt, there will be another war, most likely this summer.

The 1967 War, was a continuation of the Israeli War for Independence.  The Seeds were sown on Israel's independence day.  This was just the latest round.  But this round changed everything.  No longer was Israel just fighting for its survival (even though it was).  After this it was clear to everyone that Israel was the big boy in the block.  Israel proved that even going it alone, it would be able to route its neighbors.  Prior to this war, Israel would use all of its resources to survive.  And conversely, after this war Israel would always hold back.  That is what I see as its biggest issue now.  Instead of acting decisively and dealing with the military situation in force now Israel will pull its punches and try to use a velvet glove instead of squashing its opponents.

Until Israel goes back to the framework of fighting for its survival, Israel will continue this lethargic posturing and having its citizens bombed every day both in the North and in the South.  Mini-wars will continue and Israel will suffer repeated and unnecessary casualties in an effort to placate others in the world stage.

Day 25 - NEW CLIP - Poor Dino!

Today is Tuesday, which means we get a new clip!  Just click here:  It was a funny clip..and all I can say is Poor Dino!  Being abused by the girls like that. LOL  HEY, he actually gets to see the girls, so he has to put up with some abuse, suck it up man, just SUCK. IT. UP! <veg> Seriously, this was a good clip, and I liked the contrast how the girls treated their cats better than Dino.  I am sure its because if they didn't the cats would get their revenge (all one has to do to see that is to read the famous cat diaries).  Great job all the way around, especially to Dino who played the submissive/abused lackey well done!

Dino we are still jealous of you!!

Housekeeping

Greetings,

As you might notice I have expanded the blogroll on the website.  This is just a work in progress. I think I have added all of Tasha's and Dishka's links I am aware of.  Now I am adding some of the blogs that I read.  What I have listed so far is about a quarter of the blogs that I read weekly.  That list will increase in time.

If you know of any other links, ESPECIALLY if they are Tasha and Dishka focused, please tell me.

Thanks!

9/11 Conspiracies

OK I am damned pissed.  I have been reading the blogs for a while and I am getting frustrated with people like Rosie O'Donnell, Cindy Sheenan, Truther morons, Anti-Semitic Daily Kossacks and even Presidential candidate(s) like Ron Paul and his legion of 1 followers declaring that 9/11 was an inside job, that the Arabs had nothing to do with it, or that we don't know the truth! I am fed up and not going to take it anymore!

Hitler once said you tell a lie long enough and people begin to believe it.  That seems to be true.  I am fed up and tired of this crap.  I remember 9/11, I saw it on Live TV.  I saw the Planes hit the tower not once but MANY TIMES when the MSM showed it over and over the days following the tragedy.  I am frustrated that here 6 years after the fact people are questioning it.  You know, back in WWII, when the government suspected the Japanese they sent them to internment camps until the war was nearly over.  I think its high time that we took all the truthers and stuck them in the Desert in Nevada.  They could keep company with the Muslims (since they want us to Close Gitmo) we can close Gitmo and move them all together.  Or better yet, ship all of them in a slow boat to Saudia Arabia or Iran.

Exit question:  What will it take for these people to wake up from their slumber?  Do they need to experience an honor killing?  Do one of the females of their family need to be kept in a harem, forcibly raped at will?  Or beaten by the religious police because they are not properly covered?

UPDATE (8:15pm):  There were a number of reasons that I wrote this post.  First, I remember how panicked my family was when this happened because my great grandmother's sisters's son (I am not good in identifying all the relations beyond first cousin) lived very near the twin towers and it took us until 9/12 to find out he was Ok.  He was thank G-d.  But, my boss's (at the time) daughter was not so lucky.  She didn't make it.  And I know for a fact that the older I get the more defensive I become.  Anyone who white washes or tries to diminsh the overall aggressive tendency of Islamofascism is just going to make this war last longer, cost more lives, and ultimately aiding the forces that want to forcibly covert us or kill us.

Day 26 - A running debate

Tasha has posted a clip entitled Something like a video blog..  In the clip, there seems to be a series of shots of Tasha beginning at the 17 second mark.  My question, and I did message her about it, but never got a response, was if these shots were taken when she was younger and spliced into the clip.  Or were they current clips taken from different angles and different hair styles.  It is my belief that these were shots of Tasha when she was younger.  When Dan and I debated this in the chatroom he disagree.  What do you think?

Here is the clip:

Sunday Old School

Hey I gotta have some rap music in here.  I was born in Compton after all, so I must maintain some street cred! <g>

Ice Cube - It was a good day!

This song is the JAM!!!  Smooth beat and tracks!

NWA - Alwayz into Somthing

Yeah yeah, I was the proto-typical white suburbian male listening to gangsta rap when I was in High School and College.  What can I say - I liked it.

Eazy E - Boyz in the Hood

Another classic rap by the late Eazy E.  Man, I remember when he died, I was on my way to school at California Baptist College.  That was some interesting conversations, considering almost none of them heard of him before! LOL

Wu Tang Clan - CREAM (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)

Day 29 - My top 10 D&T Clips

I have been asked to formulate my top 10 Clips.  This is NOT an easy thing for me to do...there are about 200 clips (youtube and Heep) - so this list is basically my thoughts now.   This list can change at any time *disclaimer*

10. Tasha's World

I enjoyed this video because of the glimpse into Tasha's life.  It's very endearing.

9.  All By Myself

(Deleted Clip)

What can I say, I am a complete sucker for Tasha's amazing smile.  Her smile made that clip an instant classic.

8.  Me and Dishka

(Deleted on youtube & BUT on Heep)

If there is a clip that showed the friendship between Tasha and Dishka, I think this was it.  What can be better than a clip displaying the friendship and connection between Tasha and Dishka!

7. המטיילות רוצות בנות

(on Heep)

I have called this the gunplay clip.  The song is great.  Tasha said they had a great time making the clip and it shows!  There seems to be so many subtle meanings going on with this clip.  It is just simply one of the best clips!

6.  איך עושים ליפסינק

(on Heep)

This is one of their longer clips.  I liked the combination of them joking around and then lipsyncing.  The use of animation was unique as well.  I wish I knew Hebrew so that I could understand what they are saying! LOL.  Excellent taste in music as well.

5.  The Road to Milwaukee

Simply a great song!  Very good use of the blue screen and performance by the girls!  Damn near flawless

4.  Sponge

This video is artistically captivating.  Sensual and cerebal at the same time.  How she manged to capture all those complex feelings and vibes, I will never know..but she did.  This is simply one of Tasha's best.

3.  Hey Clip and Behind the Scenes

This is the classic.  It must be included! 15 million views cant be wrong, and I cannot say how many times I have watched this clip.  Just too many to count.

2.  High Clip

This is also one of the most watched clips I have seen of the girls.  I cant say how many times I have watched this one either..but this is definately one of the most watched clips - I view it at least 3-4 times a day LOL. The girls dancing and all the different music....perfect.  Funny and enjoyable.  This would have been #1, they included REM! LOL

1.  White Rabbit

This clip is simply awesome!  There is no other words for it...that just awesome and outstanding.  Excellently executed, Great graphics and use of props and extras (Dishka's family).  Inspired by a great movie, great song and what can I say..a.truly inspired clip!

There is my top 10 list.  What is your top 10 clips?

** New Feature - Flash Back Friday **

Today and hopefully every Friday, I will be posting some retro videos on youtube.    If you have any videos you would like to see on here, just drop me an email.

Today's clips will be:  One Night in Bangkok (1985)

Man this song brings back MEMORIES.  I recall being in 8th grade (about 12/13 years old) listening to this song in World History Class. LOL  Just about everyone in my family loved this song (except for my dad, he didn't like any "new" music).  The video, at the time, was amazing and the play that this song was in was very cool, though not as good as Phantom of the Opera.

This song is very appropriate now considering that Tasha and Dishka are in SE Asia.

 Anyway, enjoy!

Another clip for Flashback Friday is:  Blind Melon - No Rain

This song was very good, just overplayed at the time.  But, it is a classic.  Too bad the lead singer died of a heroin overdose.  He had such talent.

Why I am a Republican (well until the Immigration Crap)

The common stereotype of American Jews is that most tend to be Democrat.  The long history of social activism and their once loyal backing of Israel tended to keep reform minded American Jews in the Democrat side of the isle.  Over the past two generations this trend and stereotype is erroding with more American Jews shifting over to the Republican side of the isle.  With various democratic candidates (Clinton, Kerry, Edwards, and others) posting on the anti-semetic Daily Kos website hopefully this trend will increase as American Jews wake up and realize that the Democratic Party is no friend to the State of Israel.

Recentely, on Little Green Footballs, the reverse trend is starting to happen.  Republican candidate, Duncan Hunter, has published a guest post the subject was all about Israel.  Here is his message:

A Guest Post By Duncan Hunter

GOP Presidential candidate Duncan Hunter’s campaign contacted me and asked if I’d be interested in posting a message from him, on the subject of Israel. Just to be clear, this isn’t an LGF endorsement of Congressman Hunter (and no, he isn’t paying me to post it)—but I think the lizard army will really appreciate his straightforward assessment of the situation.

I’d like to thank Charles Johnson for giving me an opportunity to talk to his readers at Little Green Footballs about Israel.

I strongly support the wall that the Israelis have built, which has greatly reduced terrorist attacks — and believe that it’s very important for the United States to help Israel improve its missile defense in order to prevent the sort of attacks that country suffered during its war with Hezbollah last year. Incidentally, I’ve been encouraging Israel to build up her missile defense since back in 1987 as well as supporting the funding of joint missile defense technology programs such as the Arrow program.

Additionally, while the United States should do what it can to resolve the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians, it’s simply not possible for the Israelis to make peace with people who refuse to recognize their existence, kidnap their soldiers, and blow themselves up in crowds of Israeli civilians. So, until the Palestinians renounce terrorism and stop their attacks on the Israeli people, peace will be out of reach. Let me also add that I’ve been to Israel, have seen the importance of regions like the Golan Heights to their security, and believe that Israel should not be asked to give up any more land in order to make peace with the Palestinians.

I consider Israel to be America’s best ally in the Middle East and strongly support Israel’s survival as a free nation. So, if I become President of the United States, people who care about the fate of Israel can feel confident that they’ll have a friend in Duncan Hunter.

(You can learn more about Duncan Hunter at his website.)

AND here is a similarly powerful message from potential candidate Fred Thompson:

Let me ask you a hypothetical question. What do you think America would do if Canadian soldiers were firing dozens of missiles every day into Buffalo, N.Y.? What do you think our response would be if Mexican troops for two years had launched daily rocket attacks on San Diego -- and bragged about it?

I can tell you, our response would look nothing like Israel's restrained and pinpoint reactions to daily missile attacks from Gaza. We would use whatever means necessary to win the war. There would likely be numerous casualties on our enemy's side, but we would rightfully hold those who attacked us responsible.

More than 1,300 rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza since Palestinians were given control two years ago. Israelis, however, have gone to incredible lengths to stop the war against them without harming Palestinian non-combatants. But make no mistake, Israel is at war. The elected Hamas government regularly repeats its official promise to destroy Israel entirely and replace it with an Islamic state. Hamas openly took credit for killing one woman and wounding dozens more last week alone.

The Palestinian strategy is to purposely target and kill Israeli civilians. Then, when Israel goes after those launching the attacks, Palestinians claim to be the victims. If Palestinian civilians aren't hurt in the Israeli attacks, they stage injuries and deaths. Too often, they garner sympathy and support from a gullible or anti-Semitic media in the international community.

Israelis, themselves, are often incapable of facing the damage they inflict in self-defense. Knowing this, Islamic extremists are using their own populations as human shields.

I'm beginning to wonder how much longer this vicious plot will work though. International sympathy for Palestinians has diminished as the same Islamofascist extremists have brought havoc to Madrid, Bali, Somalia, London and elsewhere. More importantly, Israelis themselves are suffering so badly, they may be on the verge of losing their sympathy for the people who have sworn to kill them.

Imagine what it would be like to live, knowing that a rocket could fall on you or your children at any minute. Half of those who live nearest to Gaza have fled their homes. Those remaining are traumatized by daily warning sirens and explosions.

The irony is that Israel has the military might to easily win the war that is being waged against them today. They haven't used that might, in the past, out of compassion for Palestinian civilians and because it could trigger a wider regional conflict.

That balance of power is about to change, though. If Iran develops nuclear weapons, the very existence of this tiny nation of Israel will be threatened. The Iranian regime has left little doubt that it intends to see Israel "wiped off the map.” Hamas is using the same language, not coincidentally, and has announced it will begin launching missiles into Israel from the West Bank too.

If the world doesn't act to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions, it must be prepared for the consequences of Israel defending itself.

This was posted on LGF and on Israellycool (I got it from Israellycool).
