Yep, this is becoming the ultimate road trip!

Same here. I might have grandiose plans and such...but beyond major key points like visiting the Museum in Jerusalem, Masada, Tel Aviv beaches and meeting family members and the girls I plan to take most of the day by day itinerary fairly improvised. That is why I am still debating the merits of renting a car for the entire trip.
