Valkyrie review

This evening I went to see the movie.  I did not have much hope for it because it is a Tom Cruise driven flick.  However, I was quite impressed.  The one thing I notice is for a flick that takes place in Nazi Germany there are not alot of Heil Hitler salutes going on.  Very interesting, there was even a scene were a general had to force it from the Tom Cruise character - somehow I do not believe that scene actually happened.  On the whole it was a good flick.  I liked the follow through of what happened after the explosion.

Here is the thing with these type of movies (like Titanic) we already know the ending walking into the flick - so instead I am paying attention to other details like the costums, mannerisms.

The running joke with Titanic is that the movie lasted longer than the actual boat sinking.  But that premise does not work with this movie - they cut out some important aspects like Rommel's possible involvement for the sake of other facts and involvements of other characters.

In conclusion, it was a good movie - and I will probably buy it on DVD BUT, you might want to rent it first to see if you like it before you just go out and buy it.
