Hot Air is reporting that Pelosi MIGHT decide to visit the holocaust denier Ahmadinejad.  The obvious comment is how will this photo op play with the American People.  However, I raise another question.  How will this visit play with Israel?  It is an unfortuante fact that most Jews tend to vote democractic in recent political elections.  So, how will this stunt play in the minds of Jewish Americans?  Much like the evolution of African Americans into the Democratic Party in the 1960s, I hope that Jewish Americans will start waking up from the slumber that the Democratic Party is not a friend of Israel.  And a gradual evoluation must take place where by Jews who traditionally vote liberal and democratic wake up to the realities of the world and realize that if they care for the existence of Israel that they start voting like it matters to them. 

Another concern is how will this photoop play with the existing relationship we have with the State of Israel?  How will Israel respond to this action?  What message does this send to the middle east, in general?  These are all concerns that need to be asked before shadow president Pelosi should ever consider before visiting Iran and giving more credibility to a known sponser of terrorism.

After the smashing success of their Syrian jaunt, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Tom Lantos are considering another trip--"to open a dialogue with Iran," the San Francisco Chronicle reports:

"Speaking just for myself, I would be ready to get on a plane tomorrow morning, because however objectionable, unfair and inaccurate many of (Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's) statements are, it is important that we have a dialogue with him,'' Lantos said. "Speaking for myself, I'm ready to go--and knowing the speaker, I think that she might be.''
