Yesterday, at the age of 84 years old, Charlton Heston passed away.  He will be sorely missed.  He did some memorable movies as The 10 Commandments, Ben Hur, El Cid, Soylent Green, Planet of the Apes.  He was also the head of the NRA (National Rifle Association).  In the past few years he suffered from Alzheimer's Disease and probably other ailments as well.  What can you say about a man who has done over 120 movies for over 50 years, that has not already been said about him?

My one personal correspondence with him was with the American Air Museum in England.  I had donated funds to that project and I had received a letter of thanks from him.  I have no idea if it was written in his hand...or not but it was very cool nevertheless.

He will be sorely missed!
