Savor the end of the Clintons

Yep, it is happening tonite as I type this.  There are 3 primaries going on, Virginia, Maryland, and DC.  And they are all going to Obama hugely - no its a fucking route.  And, finally this will just about put a stake through the heart of Clenis and Hilary from getting the democratic node for President.  Tomorrow, we can worry about Obamessiah, but today, let's all drink a toast to the demise of one of the worst presidents since Dhimmi Carter.  WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Ovid

One of my favorite Roman Authors is Publius Ovidius Naso.  He wrote primarily poems like Metamorphosis and hehe his erotic work Ars Armatoria (It claims to provide teaching in three areas of general preoccupation: how and where to find girls (and husbands) in Rome, how to seduce them, and how to prevent others from stealing them) and Remedia Amoris (In this poem, Ovid offers advices and strategies to avoid being hurt by love feelings , or to fall out of love, with a stoician overtone. Such strategies include: To leave your partner; What to do after you have left your partner)  These are all written for the male point of view, of course.  Ovid was so very interesting because he was eventually banished by Emperor Augustus to the Black Sea Coast (modern Bulgeria/Romania).  He was banished because he subverted the moral reforms of Emperor Augustus and rumored to have an affair with Iulia (granddaughter to the Emperor).

One of the reasons I have a passion for history is the backstory.  History is so fascinating and Ovid is just a clear reason to show history is not black and white...but totally murky with sex and violence - usually at the same time.

In Treatment

Has anyone seen the new HBO Drama "In Treatment?"  I just finally saw my first episode of it and it looks really interesting.  There are like 4 or 5 side stories each day focuses on a new patient.  The one I saw was based on a 16 year old Olympic hopeful who had a near fatal accident and the psychiatrist has to write up an evaluation.  It is very interesting going from situation to situation and how his thought process is.

Another episode - the next one is a couple having marital problems and she has gotten pregnant (they were having issues trying to conceive).  And now trying to decide if she should have an abortion or have the baby.

So has anyone seen it?  If so what are your thoughts?

All Hail Ace

King of the Ewoks oops I mean bloggers.

He was given blogger of the year by CPAC  (Conservative Political Action Group).  When we found out he was given the award we were hoping that he would - well drop an F bomb...or talk about Thai Tranny Hookers..or Midget porn, or the best way to hunt hobos or something shocking...no instead he talked about the difference between the American Political system and European political system and how much he kissed Ron Reagan's ass LOL.  But his own blog cut him down to size since his acceptance by the always entertaining comparison of Ace to Ewoks (from Return of the Jedi) LOL.  Overall I found the speech pretty interesting and his resemblance to Ewoks and George Lucas always laugh worthy. LOL

Here is his speech.  Check it out.

Obamessiah sweeps

From Ace!

AP Calls Maine For Obama

—DrewM.

It’s a clean sweep of the weekend for the Obamasiah.

Nebraska, Louisiana and Washington yesterday. Maine today.

Oh and he beat out Bill Clinton to win a Grammy as well.

Honestly, I thought the destruction of the Clintons would be more fun. However, given the content free appeal of Obama and the fact that McCain is going to be the Republican nominee, I am not enjoying it nearly as much as I had imagined I would.

Here is the problem, Obama is going to be harder to beat.  There is clear implaccible hatred of Clenis and the Senatrix from New York.  Hell her unfavorables are as high as her favorables.  But Obama clearly is going to become the front runner soon enough and while his followers cannot name a single damn thing he has done worth to be President, he is inspirational like a black preacher during the Civil Rights Movement.  You will have a young, vigorus black man running against a dotting bitter older than dirt white man who does not have the complete support of his party.  You tell me who is gonna win this battle?

From Russia with Love??

From the King of bloggers (Instapundit):

PUTIN 0, DE HAVILLAND 1:

Vladimir Putin has announced that if NATO does not act in a manner more to his likely in future negotiations, he will take action to let them know he is not to be trifled with by unleashing an arms race.

So Russia (GDP $2.08 trillion) is threatening the EU (GDP $14.44 trillion) and USA (GDP $13.86 trillion) with an arms race?

Who says Russians do not have a great sense of humour? They are famous for it, in fact and this is a case in point. In effect Vladimir Putin is saying "if you do not start respecting me, I will bankrupt my country by producing large quantities of the same weapons that the Israelis consistently turn into confetti using western military technology." Oh saints preserve us!

Ouch.

Friday Shopping

Friday tends to be my shopping day.   So, my boss and I went to the Biltmore again...I ended up getting my carry on luggage so now my luggage collection is complete.  2 large suitcases and one carry-on suitcase for my laptop and other essentials!  G-d I cannot believe I spent almost a grand just on luggage alone!  Then we went to borders, ya'll know how much trouble I can get in there....but I was good! hehe...I only got one book.   Since I was really bad at Macy's - getting my carry-on suitcase - since it was about $220.00.

Well now I can work on the next phases of my vacation - hotel reservations and paying off the credit cards.   Also, I think I am going to convert some cash over to Israeli currency right before the trip with my bank.

RIP Tig

Yesterday, Meryl Yourish suffered a loss, her fluffy Maine Coon Cat passed away after a bout with an illness.   Tigger was almost 11 years old.

Meryl's blog has a huge significance with me.  It was the first blog I ever started reading (about 4-5 years ago) and it also helped me on the path of becoming more informed about events in Israel.  I still recall her posts about the Passover suicide bombing that happened 3-4 years ago.  When things get too serious on her blog she will start putting up posts of her cats, Tig and Gracie.   I am really sorry for her loss, and hope Tig is in a better place no longer suffering.

Tasha's Techno Beat - in English

I think we all remember this clip!

This is a great clip from Tasha and Dishka - I really really liked the song and Tasha was able to help me download it.

On the way home from the Biltmore my boss and I were driving in my car and on the radio I heard a very familiar techno beat but I could not place it - the same feeling came over my boss - since she knows about the girls too and has seen this clip as well.    Well it hit me...HOT DAMN thats a song from the girls clip!  And low and behold it was - and it was in English!

Here is the song

Bass Hunter - Now you're Gone

Economic Stimulus

Well, the Republicans have finally backed a plan to give every "Legal" American (I am sure some Illegals will benefit) a refund of sorts.  If you are single - like I am - we will get $600.00 back!  If you have a spouse or kids - $1200 + 300 per kid - that seems to be the bottom line.  They are hoping this will give a shot in the arm for the economy - and it will - to China's economy!  Well, in my case it will be to Israel's economy since we will probably have it in time for my trip! LOL.  This is such a stupid way of trying to stimulate the economy.  Instead they should fucking lower taxes or capital gains.  Instead we are going to stimulate China's economy with the purchase of TV's and other electronic goods that are not made in the US.  (Yes, I see a rush on HD or Plasma TVs in the future! hehe).  Anyway, I guess I should be supportive of this since I will benefit.   So, fine, I do - there I said it.  You bastards twisted my arm! LOL.  Anyway, I hope China puts this new found wealth to good use.
